The Wednesday Afternoon Bridge Club, an organization under the umbrella of the Camrose and District Senior Society, provides an opportunity for bridge enthusiasts to meet on a weekly basis in a friendly, non-competitive atmosphere. All club participants must have a Camrose and District Senior Society membership ($15.00/year) and are required to pay $3.00 each time they play. The Club operates on a drop in basis so it it not necessary to come with a partner. The Club meets at Mirror Lake Center every Wednesday at 1 pm throughout the year. The afternoon consists of six rounds (24 hands) of bridge and refreshments are provided.
In addition to weekly play the Wednesday Afternoon Bridge Club sponsors several “in house“ tournaments each year. This is a full day of fun consisting of morning refreshments, four rounds of bridge, lunch, and four more rounds of bridge.
On a larger scale, the Wednesday Afternoon Bridge Club organizes three regional bridge tournaments a year which attracts bridge players from many communities throughout central Alberta. Held in the auditorium at Mirror Lake Center, these events are very well attended with as many as 200 bridge players vying for cash prizes. Morning refreshments and lunch are provided. For a minimal fee, participants enjoy a day of good bridge, good fun and good fellowship.
