Happy Ground Hog Day!— and I didn’t see my shadow —-so expect an early Spring !!
News from the desk of Norma Jeanne – secretary @ the Camrose Senior Centre
We have had a very busy January – thank you to all those who have been so prompt in renewing their memberships and welcome to the many new Members. There is still ample time to renew your memberships.
**This past Saturday we were pleased to be able to host the “Hype Velocity “ Zumba group in the Auditorium followed by our usual “always successful” Crib Tournament on Sunday February 1 . The next Sunday Crib tournament will be March 1 in the auditorium @0930.
**Feel like Dancing !!- our Camrose Social Dance Club has their monthly dance on February 7 – 1pm-5pm
**Table Tennis remains a popular activity – every Monday and Friday @0930. Unfortunately- there is no table tennis on February 6 as FCSS has a “Multi Agency “ function @ 0830 in the Auditorium
**Floor Curling continues every Monday and Tuesday afternoon @1:30pm
**Morning Side Singers continues to meet every Monday @10am in the Card Room
**Duplicate Bridge meets every Monday afternoon @1pm in the Card Room .
**Tai Chi meets twice a week in the Auditorium on Monday evening @6:30pm and Thursday morning @10am
**Men’s Pool are an active group of gents – every morning of the week in the pool room . The ladies play pool on Monday afternoons – and sometimes Wednesday afternoons( if they choose).
**Camrose Crib club meet every Monday evening in the Card Room @5:30pm
**Chair Yoga has become a very popular activity – and so beneficial. The group meets Tuesday mornings @10:30 am . The last class for this session is Feb.17 and resumes on March 3.
**Tuesday evenings @5:30pm is Dance With Me Social Dance Group – beginning with Absolute beginner @5:30 followed by Novice/Improver line dance @6:30pmPlease contact Sherry ( 780-916-8968) regarding couple dance .
**Cam Roses meet in the Card Room @10:30am the first Tuesday of every month .
**Canasta – one of our popular card games ,meet Tuesday and Thursday in the Card Room @1pm
**Wednesday see JJ’S Line Dancing busy in the Auditorium from 0930 with Intermediate students, followed by Advanced dancers @10:45am. After lunch Pre beginners dance @1pm followed by Beginners @2:15pm.
**Also on Wednesday – in the evening -in the Auditorium – is Corn Hole beginning @6pm until10:30pm
**Wednesday Bridge meet weekly in the Card Room @ 1pm- and Whist meets weekly ,on Wednesday in the Coffee Room.
***Thursday, Floor Shuffleboard meets in the Auditorium@ 1pm- 3:30pm.
*Euchre and 500 play @10am on Thursday in the Card Room
**Tech Talk For Seniors meet with Ron in the Sunshine Room on Thursday @0930 — and
*Air Cadets meet every Thursday in the Auditorium @ 6:30pm-9pm
**Friday -we have Essentrics in the Coffee Room @1:30pm
*M&M’s meet once a month in the Coffee Room @0900 – this month they meet on February 27.
Friday crib gets together every week @1pm in the Card Room
*HunnyBun’s Quilters meet on February 7 in the Card Room @0800
*Scrap booking with Donna in the Coffee Room on February 11 @6pm
*Card Making with Donna in the Coffee Room on February 19 @12:30pm
*Quilting Workshop in the Auditorium on February28@0900
*MUSIC JAM on Sunday February 8from 1pm-4pm in the Auditorium
*Wellness Cafe – hosted by FCSS in the Coffee Room on February 26 @0930-12 noon. Topic is “Frauds and Scams”- everyone welcome.
**Bus Trips – Roy Orbison is full – however – we are planning a Bus Trip to Cow Patti on Friday, March 20 . If you are interested please sign up in the Red Binder in the front hall.
**Also – on February 10 – we have Isiah Newman coming to speak about “ “Tech Confidence for Seniors”@0930 -12noon in the Card Room – everyone welcome.
